JACK DANIEL’S INVITATIONAL
The Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series will return to Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 5-6 for the third year in a row and 16th time overall with the Jack Daniel’s Invitational.
Legendary bull BUSHWACKER will be bucking at the Saturday Nashville event! Nashville is now part of the BUSHWACKER 2014 FAREWELL TOUR! Bushwacker will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2014 season.
Amongst the Top 35 bull riders in the world will be Tennessee native Cody Nance, who has won two events so far this season (Tacoma Wash., and Fresno, Calif.) and currently ranks ninth in the PBR world standings. Defending PBR Nashville event champion and current No. 1 rider Guilherme Marchi is also expected to be in the lineup.
Six PBR World Champions are scheduled to compete in Nashville, including reigning World Champion J.B. Mauney, Silvano Alves (2012, 2011), Renato Nunes, (2010), Kody Lostroh, Marchi (2008) and Mike Lee(2004).
With this talent in the arena, the competition is sure to be fearless and intense. There’s a $140,000 total event purse on the line, as well as valuable points to gain towards the overall PBR World Championship. Each man will be fighting for the win with a determination unmatched and unseen in any other sport against foes upwards of 2,000 pounds.
During this two-day event, all Top 35 bull riders will get on one bull each in Rounds 1 and 2 on Friday and Satuday. After Round 2 on Saturday night, the riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled and the top 15 riders on two bulls will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round for one more ride and a chance at the $30,000 event title.
