Bridgestone Arena Adding Safety Enhancements Ahead of 2019-20 Season

Posted: Aug 27, 2019

Whether you're passing through Bridgestone Arena's doors to enjoy Predators hockey, a world-class concert or another unique event, you can be assured of two things.

One, your overall experience is about to rival that of any other arena in the world. Second, and perhaps most importantly, your safety is paramount during your visit.

With this in mind, security measures at Bridgestone Arena are improving once again, including the addition of five new x-ray machines ahead of the 2019-20 NHL season for the purpose of scanning bags while entering the building.

Ideally, guests will choose to leave all bags at home for the most efficient entry into the arena. However, when carrying a few additional items into the building is necessary, it's best to adhere to a "clear or clutch" policy, meaning all bags should be clear in nature, or a single-opening clutch with no inside pockets. Thanks to their see-through material or smaller size, these bags will not be subject to the x-ray scanners, but they all must meet a 12-inch-by-12-inch-by-6-inch size requirement as well. Guests who follow the "clear or clutch" policy will be able to utilize the arena's newly converted Express Lanes for entry.

Although they still must meet the above size requirements, fans may bring a purse, drawstring bag or fanny pack that is not made of clear material if they so choose. The new x-ray machines will be utilized in this instance, a fan-friendly measure that will expedite entry into the arena. The machines will be in use over the coming weeks with full implementation starting on Sept. 4 with the Chris Brown concert.

Bags larger than the 12-inch-by-12-inch-by-6-inch dimensions, including duffel bags, cooler bags, backpacks and rolling luggage, will continue to be prohibited inside of Bridgestone Arena.

Ultimately, these new measures will provide convenience, comfort and safety for each and every guest who enters the building, ensuring one of the world's busiest arenas also continues to be one of the best.
